Stainless steel terminal of the EXPERT SE series

The stainless steel terminal of the EXPERT SE series has a cable feed on the underside of the housing, the connections are sunk into a cassette. The EXPERT SE series is only available with an analog resistive touch panel that enables problem-free operation with fingers, gloves, stylus and much more. LCD variants between 15 "and 21.5" are available for visualization.

The temperature range of the stainless steel terminal extends from -5 ° C to 50 ° C - in addition, from the 17 "LCD variant, a 400 watt heating including control can be integrated. With the integrated heating, the model is expanded to include the freezer variant of the stainless steel terminal - the temperature range increases to -30 ° C to 50 ° C. The deep-freeze version features continuous control, including a time-optimized warm-up phase (preheating).

Below you will find a brief overview of the most important features of the stainless steel terminal series EXPERT SE, including all expansion options.

  • The cable feed of the stainless steel terminal is from below, the connections are sunk into the cassette
  • The front of the device has protection class IP69, according to EN60529
  • Depending on the selected interface protection, the connection side can also be protected up to IP69
  • The analog resistive touchscreen technology can be operated with gloves
  • The front foil in front of the glass support of the stainless steel terminal guarantees splinter protection
  • The standard temperature range is -5 ° C to 50 ° C
  • From a 17 "LCD version it is possible to obtain a freezer version. The temperature range here is -30 ° C to 50 ° C.

Connection technology on the underside of the stainless steel terminal

Edelstahl Terminal Interface Open Min

All connection cables of the stainless steel terminal are led out on the underside of the device. The interfaces and plugs are protected by the internal cassette.

The CPU used in the stainless steel terminal offers all common PC connections with your usual standard plug-in formats.

Cable design with IP69 protection class

Edelstahl Terminal Interface Close Pg Min

When commissioning the stainless steel terminals, the situation very often arises with the cabling that pre-assembled cables, such as those from keyboards and scanners, have to be led through so-called PG screw connections in order to achieve a degree of protection according to IP69. For the user this means: disconnect the plug, drive through the cable and solder.
The loss of guarantee after such an action and, above all, the time invested are assessed differently by the companies.

After running the cables through PG screw connections, the degree of protection achieved is IP69.

Cable execution with IP65 protection class without cable work

Edelstahl Terminal Interface Close Rittal Min

As an alternative to the PG screw connection, FORSIS offers a press seal, which enables cables with different diameters and pre-assembled plugs to be implemented easily and without tools.

This way of leading the cabling out of the stainless steel terminal, the degree of protection IP65 is achieved.

Always the perfect visualization with LCD variants up to 21.5 "

Edelstahl Terminal Front21 Min

The stainless steel terminals of the EXPERT SE series are offered in different LCD variants.

The LCD sizes 15 ", 17" and 19 "are available in 4: 3 format. The LCD size 21.5" offers FHD resolution in 16: 9 format. The analog resistive touch technology used in this series of stainless steel terminals has, due to the front foil in front of the glass carrier, splinter protection in the event of breakage.

Fixing and accessories

The continuity of the stainless steel terminals runs through all areas.
This means that the accessory components must also be adapted to the environmental conditions of the respective place of use. The brackets of the stainless steel terminals in their different lengths (stand or wall bracket) are completely made of stainless steel. Likewise, the star handles to adjust the viewing angle individually at any time.

RFID reader integrated in the connector cover

The stainless steel terminals of the EXPERT series can be equipped with the contactless reading process: LEGIC © (advant), hitag © or mifare © (DESFire). Of course, the protection class IP65 is retained.

With the stainless steel terminal of the EXPERT SE series, the attachment variant is offered with the installation of the RFID reader in the connector cover on the underside of the device.

Special function keys

There is the optional possibility of integrating function keys in the front of the housing of the stainless steel terminal. A maximum of four buttons can be added.

The key features at a glance below:

  • Connection by keyboard controller via USB / HID
  • Programming by FORSIS Support GUI
  • The keys can be freely assigned with all characters and direct program or Windows commands
  • Can also be combined with the RFID reader

The stainless steel terminal from FORSIS makes it possible to meet almost all customer requirements through two series of interfaces. The installation of additional cards or the use of all existing interfaces in the stainless steel terminal enable, for example, the connection of scales, the connection of external scanners and other options.

The stainless steel terminals have protection class IP69 and are extremely resilient.

The trend towards the assembly of stainless steel terminals, which are used as feedback stations in the hygiene-sensitive production environment, is towards modular and service-friendly mounting systems.

The mounting options for the stainless steel terminals offered by FORSIS are therefore very trendy. However, in some cases swiveling systems are required to remove the stainless steel terminal from the food area for cleaning or maintenance. The gallows systems and swivel arms made of stainless steel are ideal here. In principle, all FORSIS devices from the stainless steel series can be mounted on such brackets - however, the EXPERT SE series of stainless steel terminals is particularly suitable for this, because the top of the device is specially reinforced in this version.

Please let us know your mounting requirements! We are happy to help you at any time.

The very good cleaning options for glass surfaces and, at the same time, the risk of glass breakage in the food environment contradict each other. This repeatedly leads to the discussion to what extent capacitive touch surfaces (multitouch displays) can be used in the direct food sector.

The standards of DIN EN 1672-2: 2009-07 clearly describe what is allowed and what is not allowed.

With the EXPERT SE stainless steel terminal series, we have therefore deliberately opted for the analog resistive touchscreen, which offers glass splinter protection in the event of breakage.
