The basis of the Linux Distribution CentOS 5.2 CentOS is a free reproduction which is created by the compilation of the public original sources of RedHat Enterprise Linux and thus ensures full binary compatibility. By using the most common Enterprise Linux, long-term maintenance of the system with maximum compatibility is optimally ensured.

FORSIS adjustments and the requirements of data acquisition for special applications

Touchscreen support

Support of the Hampshire Touchcontroller. This enables the connection of a number of touch panels. A calibration tool is already integrated.

Flash disk support

Designed for continuous operation on flash disk (at least 2 GB)

WLAN support

The basic Linux system includes support of the WLAN adapters by Atheros, Broadcom and Intel in the MiniPCI card format. The same applies for the corresponding PCIe cards. The following encodings are supported: WPA-PSK, WPA-EAP and WPA2.

Note on roaming

Special value is placed on the mobile use in the stacker environment, i.e. the fast changing of access points was implemented successfully.

Virtual keyboard

A standard keyboard programme based on X.11 is used. Various layout files are offered in addition, for example, standard QWERTZ touch keyboard as default. The following settings are possible: ALPHA, NUM, MIN, MOVE.
