Igel technology

The basic idea behind the ThinClient philosophy is quite simple: Not all data is available at every workstation, but only the data actually required. Data storage and programme run take place on the server. Despite similar operating comfort and identical performance, the hard disk and ventilation-free ThinClients therefore often represent a clever alternative to conventional, fully-equipped industrial PCs.

Technically, all FORSIS ThinClients are constructed identically: They are designed as single-board PCs with a low-power CPU CELERON M; a compact flash module (DOC, DOM) is installed as mass memory. The devices usually work without fan or hard disk, i.e. without moving mechanical components. Of course, all standard interfaces are provided.

In addition to their usability under extreme conditions, all FORSIS THIN Client devices provide:

  • Central management resulting in: Relief for internal IT
  • Reduced data bandwidth, ideal for mobile solutions with data radio transmission
  • Fast installation by means of central administration software
  • Long life due to low-power components
  • Low maintenance costs, since no moving parts are used
  • Secure working platform against viruses and theft
